During the Summer Term every tutor group had the chance to vote for the best design for a
Garden of Reflection which is going to be made for students. Tutor groups voted to choose one out of 3 short-listed designs which had been created by students at Avonbourne and Portchester Schools. Thank you to everyone who voted and to your teachers for supervising this.

The Garden of Reflection will be a quiet space in a courtyard in the middle of school. There’ll be seating for students.
The Garden design uses ideas from the Middle East, for example mosaics, a patio area, a tree and water feature. It builds on the visit to our school last December by 2 teachers from the Kingdom Schools, Saudi Arabia.
The Garden design also uses ideas from the UK, for example poems by students and quotations by famous world people.
The winning design – which will be built as soon as possible - is ‘garden 2’ by Avonbourne students Bethany Prince 9B2 and Amy Crawford 8C1 and Portchester students Jordan Carpenter and Sam Capp.
In second place was garden 3 by Vicky Beaumont 10F2, Olivia Claydon 9C1, Steven Hayes and Sean Fuller.
In third place was garden 1 by Daisy Harper Brown 10B2 and Phoebe Chipchase 10N1, Patrick Hurley and Ryan Conway. Congratulations to Bethany Prince and Amy Crawford!
