In early 2007, an invitation was issued to teachers in Bournemouth and Poole local authorities to participate in a visit to the Western Cape area of South Africa. The overall aim of this visit was to compare and contrast modes of teaching and learning in South African schools to those in
England, with a view to sharing good practice and bringing back ideas for dissemination.
Two Avonbourne teachers travelled to South Africa and found the whole experience thoroughly rewarding. From this, a range of collaborative projects have beem planned, including the 'Footprints of Africa' project. Click here for the whole local authority report on the trip.
