Avonbourne School

The building is due to be completed in the Autumn 2008 and will be an exciting addition to our facilities. The suite will enable us to provide courses for our students and the wider community using the latest cutting edge technology. We are continually sourcing new ways to enhance our students’ learning through our Business and Enterprise status and this is a great opportunity for us as a School. We will be one of the first schools in the country to offer this kind of facility to its students and the wider community; putting our students at the forefront of the ever evolving world of IT, Business and Technology.

Through the promotion of Industry and Business standard skills within the classroom and the development of entrepreneurial methods of learning, it is envisaged that students (whether from the school or Community population) will leave Avonbourne with valuable learning outcomes which ensure social progression. As such, Avonbourne can play a part in building capacity for the future and in the healthy progression of Bournemouth’s infrastructure.

The Suite will contain the following technology;

The purpose of the virtual reality technology and video conferencing is to expand the learning environment beyond the classroom to encompass experiential learning which is inaccessible otherwise (e.g. Geographically or because of age limits).

 

We will be working with local business and other education establishments eg Bournemouth and Poole College to provide exciting and transferable skills for the next generation.
