Through our teaching, we want to:-
- Create and foster the enjoyment of ICT and stimulate curiosity about the technology available.
- Give pupils the ability to become independent learners so that as new ICT software and hardware becomes available they are confident about attempting to use it.
- Inject pupils with the vision to use ICT creatively.
Pupils in Year 7, 8 and 9 are taught the ICT Key Stage Strategy.
They learn how to use the Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint to solve Business based problems. We also incorporate the teaching of Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver into year 9 to prepare pupils for their KS4 AiDA or CiDA course.
The pupils have 2 periods of ICT a fortnight in years 7 and 8. They have 3 periods a fortnight in year 9.
The pupils are also able to use ICT suites afterschool to complete coursework and homework.
